About Super Sounds is designed to be the essential Nursery Phonics toolkit!

Hello! My name's Emma Spiers, The Learning Lady.

I am an early years author, trainer and consultant specialising in prephonics for 2, 3 and 4 year olds, supporting schools and early years settings since 2012.

I wrote Super Sounds in 2022 to provide busy practitioners with a super simple solution to phonics in Nursery. 

Perfect preparation for phonics is everything, so I created an all-singing, all-dancing go-to resource, brimming with stories, songs, games, and planning for AMAZING prephonics success with your 2,3, and 4-year-olds!

I created Super Sounds At Home  in 2025 in response to requests from early years practitioners already using Super Sounds. It provides instant, easy to follow, accurate explanations and ideas for home learning.
